Some travel ideas start as a joke.
Some start as a spreadsheet.
And some turn into a full-blown adventure that takes over your life for months.
This one was all three.
Tom officially completed JetBlue’s 25 for 25 Challenge — visiting 25 unique JetBlue airports before the December 31, 2025 deadline. And with that, he earned 350,000 TrueBlue points and 25 years of Mosaic 1 elite status.
Let that sink in for a second.
That puts him in a group of about 1,000 people worldwide who actually pulled this off.
What Is JetBlue’s 25 for 25 Challenge?
To celebrate their 25th anniversary, JetBlue launched one of the boldest loyalty promotions we’ve seen in years.
The rules were simple… in theory:
Fly to 15, 20, or 25 unique JetBlue destinations
Flights had to be JetBlue-operated
Finish by December 31, 2025
The rewards scaled quickly — but finishing all 25 airports was the real challenge. It required precise planning, smart routing, flexibility, and a level of commitment that goes way beyond booking a few weekend trips.
This wasn’t accidental travel. This was intentional.
This Wasn’t Just Flying — It Was a Journey
What makes this challenge special isn’t just the number of airports. It’s everything that happened between them.
Along the way, Tom:
Reconnected with old friends
Caught several concerts with his uncle Andy 🎶
Spent real, quality family time in New York
And experienced just about every form of transportation imaginable
It wasn’t just about checking boxes on a map. It was about people, timing, and saying yes to experiences that happened because the flights lined up the way they did.
The Real Challenges (Because Nothing Went Smoothly)
Completing 25 unique airports sounds straightforward until reality steps in.
Tom had to navigate:
Complex JetBlue routing to ensure every flight actually qualified
Scheduling headaches that left little room for error
A U.S. government shutdown that triggered a ground stop at Fort Lauderdale (FLL) — right in the middle of the challenge
A tropical storm in the Caribbean, threatening flights, connections, and carefully planned sequences
Add in tight turnarounds, weather delays, and the mental grind of staying locked in for weeks, and finishing was anything but guaranteed.
There were moments where one cancellation or missed connection could have unraveled everything.
That’s what makes the accomplishment real.
Crossing the Finish Line
The final result?
✅ 25 unique JetBlue airports
🏆 350,000 TrueBlue points
💙 25 years of Mosaic 1 elite status
But the bigger win wasn’t just the points or the status.
It was proving that even when travel throws shutdowns, storms, and chaos your way, persistence — and a little creativity — can still get you across the finish line.
Now the Fun Really Begins
Now we’ve got the points — and that’s where things get interesting.
We’ve been tossing around some big ideas.
South Africa.
India.
Europe in the Summer.
Or… who knows?
The real challenge now is figuring out how to make those points work as hard as possible — getting the farthest we can, maximizing value, and maybe not blowing all 350,000 points on a single redemption.
That planning process? That’s part of the fun.
And yes — we’ll be sharing how we think about stretching points, booking smart, and turning this one challenge into multiple unforgettable trips.
