Napa Valley | USA 2021
Sipping world-class wines, savoring Michelin recognized cuisine, and exploring Napa’s natural beauty on a perfect two-night getaway.
Tom and I treated ourselves to a short but memorable two-night escape to Napa Valley, and though it was quick, the experience was nothing short of magical. Our main purpose was to connect with several of our partner wineries, but of course, Napa has a way of turning any trip into something extraordinary.
Over the course of our visit, we explored some of Napa’s most celebrated wineries—Reynolds, Cakebread, Twomey, Odette, Pine Ridge, and Darioush. Each had its own unique personality, from family-run warmth to grand architectural elegance. Cakebread, one of Napa’s pioneering estates, has been producing acclaimed wines since the 1970s, while Darioush dazzled us with its Persian-inspired columns and hospitality. At every stop, we were reminded of Napa’s diversity: the soils, microclimates, and winemaking styles all contribute to the valley’s global reputation for excellence.
We also took time to wander the gardens of The French Laundry, Thomas Keller’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant. Though we didn’t dine there this time, just strolling the grounds felt special, and we left with the hope of someday experiencing its legendary tasting menu. For dinner, we did indulge at Bistro Jeanty, a Michelin-recognized French bistro in Yountville. Its classic French country cuisine—rich, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—was nothing short of divine.
Our trip wasn’t only about wine and food. We also ventured out for a scenic drive through the mountains and visited the Petrified Forest, a natural wonder where ancient redwood trees were turned to stone more than 3 million years ago by volcanic ash. Walking among these fossilized giants was a fascinating reminder of the region’s geological past, adding a layer of history to our Napa experience.
Between networking with our business partners, savoring world-class food and wine, and taking in the valley’s natural beauty, we felt like we only scratched the surface of what Napa has to offer. It’s a destination that combines elegance with authenticity, and it’s easy to see why it remains one of the world’s premier wine regions.
We left Napa with full hearts, full glasses, and the promise to return—because two nights is never enough in a place this rich with culture, flavor, and charm.
