Amsterdam | Netherlands 2022

Another day trip from Brussels took us to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, just a 2.5-hour train ride away. Our main plan for the day was a canal boat tour, which we booked through Viator, and it was absolutely incredible. Gliding through the canals, we admired the stunning architecture and learned about the historical significance behind the various building designs. Each canal-side house had its own story, and the overall beauty of the city left us in awe.

After the boat tour, we wandered the streets to soak in the culture, taking in the lively energy of the city. By chance, we found ourselves in the Red Light District, but during the day, it was surprisingly tame. Along the way, we stopped for lunch, found a playground for the boys, explored a local chocolate shop, and even stumbled across a flea market in one of the squares. This whirlwind day trip definitely sparked our curiosity about Amsterdam, and we can’t wait to return and spend more time exploring all the city has to offer.
