When JetBlue announced its “25 for 25” promotion, Tom and I were immediately intrigued. The challenge runs from June 25 through December 31, 2025, giving TrueBlue members more than half a year to complete it.
Since it launched just weeks before our trip to Asia, we decided to wait until we got home to start. With plenty of time left in the year, we knew we could plan it thoughtfully. As of now, Tom has already flown into 10 qualifying airports! There have been a few hiccups along the way, but overall it’s gone well.
Here’s a breakdown of what the challenge is, how it works, what Tom has accomplished so far, and the rewards we’re working toward.
What Is the “25 for 25” Challenge?
JetBlue created this promotion in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The concept is simple but ambitious:
Fly into unique JetBlue-served airports/destinations between June 25 → December 31, 2025.
There are milestones at 15, 20, and 25 different airports, each unlocking bigger rewards.
Each airport counts only once toward your total. If a metro area has multiple JetBlue airports, each can count separately.
Eligible flights must be JetBlue-operated, and you must book Blue seats or better. Blue Basic fares don’t qualify.
What You Get: TrueBlue Points & Mosaic Status
Reward Tiers:
15 airports → 150,000 bonus TrueBlue points
20 airports → +200,000 bonus TrueBlue points (350,000 total)
25 airports → everything above plus 25 years of Mosaic 1 status
Since TrueBlue points never expire, they’ll be ready for flights, upgrades, or even JetBlue Vacations packages whenever we want to use them.
Mosaic 1 Status (for 25 Years!)
The crown jewel of the challenge is 25 years of Mosaic 1 status once you hit all 25 airports.
Mosaic 1 benefits include:
Two free checked bags per person (including travel companions).
Complimentary alcoholic drinks on board.
Priority boarding.
Same-day flight changes (often at no extra cost).
Access to EvenMore® Space seats when available.
Faster security lines at select airports.
Choice of one yearly bonus: Priority access to Mint Suites, Pet Fee Waiver, $99 Statement Credit on your JetBlue Credit Card, 20 Tiles, Gift 20 Tiles to someone else, 15,000 Bonus Points, or IHG Platinum Reward Status.
While higher Mosaic tiers unlock even more, Mosaic 1 on its own already makes travel smoother and more cost-efficient—and having it guaranteed for 25 years is incredible. And as long as Tom books the whole family on the same reservation, we all get to enjoy the perks of his Mosaic 1 status.
How We’re Doing So Far
Tom has now visited 10 qualifying airports:
DCA (Washington, DC)
PHL (Philadelphia)
LAX (Los Angeles)
BUF (Buffalo)
FLL (Fort Lauderdale)
EWR (Newark)
TPA (Tampa)
RSW (Fort Myers, Florida)
HPN (Westchester, New York)
MCO (Orlando, Florida)
The Challenges Along the Way
One flight was rerouted from Orlando to Tampa because of weather. The plane later continued to Orlando, but since it was only in Tampa temporarily, he didn’t receive credit for that airport.
He’s also had to cancel or reschedule a few flights due to conflicts—but thankfully, Blue fares (and higher) can be canceled at no cost before departure, which has made this so much easier to manage.
He had a 45 minute turn-around in LA, and slept on the on the flight home. (Bonus points for avoiding a hotel night!)
Why Finish Early?
Our goal is to finish before November:
We’ve got a big plans for Thanksgiving.
The restaurant will be extremely busy once the snowbirds return.
Finishing early leaves us a cushion in case of reroutes, delays, or last-minute schedule changes.
Our weekly routine has made this surprisingly doable: Tom works at the restaurant during our normal work week, flies out on Mondays and Tuesdays, keeps Sundays for football with our son, and is back by Wednesday to help with shopping for work.
And beyond the challenge itself, Tom has had fun. He caught a couple concerts with his Uncle Andy when flying into DC (The Who & Bonnie Raitt), explored Manhattan for the first time, and even met up with an old friend in Tampa for a casino night. The journey has been more than just checking airports off a list—it’s making memories too.
Using Points & Transfer Partners
While JetBlue’s partner network isn’t as big as some other airlines, there are still plenty of ways to maximize points:
Redeem for JetBlue flights.
Upgrade to EvenMore Space or other premium seating.
Book JetBlue Vacations packages (flight + hotel deals).
Earn and redeem points with select travel partners, including some hotel and credit card programs. We've got our heart set on some great airline transfers!
And with Mosaic perks like free checked bags and priority boarding, our points will stretch even further since we won’t be paying extra fees.
Tips We’ve Learned So Far
Track your progress closely—make sure each airport gets credited. (JetBlue will not track your progress for you. Unless you hit 25, you won't know your status until after the promotion ends. So it's up to you to ensure you're doing it correctly.)
Plan around reroutes—as we learned in Tampa, diversions may not count.
Book Blue or better so flights qualify, even if it costs a little more.
Build in buffer time—don’t wait until the holidays to try and cram them in!
Make it fun—pair airport runs with concerts, meetups, or sightseeing, or whatever else interests you.
Looking Ahead
With 10 airports complete, we’re over halfway to the first big milestone. Our plan is to hit 15 soon for the first bonus, and then keep pushing toward 20—and hopefully get to 25.
Once those points hit our account, we’ll be ready to start booking our trip for next summer. And knowing we’ll have Mosaic 1 status locked in for the next 25 years means every flight will be smoother and cheaper.
This challenge has turned out to be more than a promotion—it’s been an adventure.
